Repeats
I must be sick of thinking of new recipes, or sick of blogging.... not sure which.
Tonight, I made the beer simmered sausages again. When I read over my original post, hoping that I finally could benefit from all the writing, I realized that I couldn't recreate the recipe at all!!!
Here it goes again, my modifications to the Epicurious recipe:
Beer- Simmer Grilled Sausages
Tonight, I made the beer simmered sausages again. When I read over my original post, hoping that I finally could benefit from all the writing, I realized that I couldn't recreate the recipe at all!!!
Here it goes again, my modifications to the Epicurious recipe:
Beer- Simmer Grilled Sausages
- a toothpick
- 6 uncooked sausages, such as sweet or hot Italian sausages
- 1/2 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 beer, as needed (I used Yards Brawler- my second favorite beer, after Miller Lite and before Guinness)

ALSO Magnolia's now sells an 'ice box cake' for $4.50 a slice. Unfortunately their recipe is not in the cook book but I think you should share yours!
Keep up the fab job!
the pesto, i am too ashamed to say, that i got out of a jar! my basil doesn't grow plentiful enough on my window sill- but one day! Here is one from allrecipes.com that I would imagine I would use... maybe sub pine nuts (if I cant afford them):
3 cups fresh basil leaves
1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts
4 cloves garlic, peeled
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup olive oil
salt and pepper to taste
In a food processor (NOT A BLENDER!), blend together basil leaves, nuts, garlic, and cheese. Pour in oil slowly while still mixing. Stir in salt and pepper.
ICE BOX CAKE! May be on slate for Sept 14th (aka JW's bday), but worse case, I'll blog about the "recipe" anyway!
stay tuned!
